PANYNJ SUPPORTS INSULATING 27,500 HOMES AROUND JFK, TEB, NEWARK, AND LAGUARDIA

On Sept. 1, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey released draft Part 150 Airport Noise Compatibility Programs that recommend sound insulating approximately 27,500 homes and 86 noise-sensitive structures around JFK International, Newark Liberty International, Teterboro Airport, and LaGuardia Airport at an estimated cost of around $2.7 billion. If approved by the FAA, the Port Authority would be launching one of the largest airport sound insulation programs in the country at a time when many decades-long airport sound insulation programs are winding down.
