REGULATORY AFFAIRS - NAVIGATING THE DOT/FAA LANDSCAPE

AAAE's Regulatory Affairs Team represents the association's members before DOT and FAA. Whether it is a question about a rulemaking, advisory circular or other FAA guidance, a quick call or email to the team can help members to navigate the agency landscape. In addition to direct advocacy with DOT and FAA, the Regulatory Affairs Team serves on many industry working groups such as the Runway Safety Council, the Drone Advisory Committee, the Airport Cooperative Research Program, and the Research, Engineering and Development Advisory Committee. The UAS 26 Coalition, a collaborative industry group dedicated to UAS integration issues, was spearheaded and currently is led by AAAE's Regulatory Affairs staff. Additionally, the team represents airport interests on several FAA rulemaking committees related to the two hottest issues before the agency and receiving national attention: UAS and commercial space.
