Singapore Airlines has successfully completed one of the most environmentally efficient flights ever over the North Pacific, and in doing so realised fuel savings of more than ten tonnes and a reduction in carbon emissions of morethan 33 tonnes. Using one of its fleet of Boeing 747-400s, this was the first multi-sector demonstration flight to be carried out under the Asia and Pacific Initiative to Reduce Emissions (ASPIRE) programme, which aims to promote environmental stewardship in the region.
