Uncertain Future for Bruntingthorpe Super Guppy

The UK's sole Aero Spacelines B-377-SGT Super Guppy, F-BTGV (c 0001), is at risk of being scrapped following the sale of Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire. The former US Air Force (USAF) base, located nine miles (14.4km) south of Leicester, has long been used to store vehicles. However, owners C Walton Ltd have now sold most of the 670-acre (2.7km2) site to Cox Automotive.
