The reconnaissance F-4 variants didn't have the glamour of their MiG-killing cousins, but in my view, they were certainly the best looking. It's about time a book was published that is solely dedicated to the sleek-nosed RF-4s. Respected aviation photographer and author and frequent AFM contributor Peter R Foster has dived deep into his own image archive and used a host of pictures from his colleagues to provide an illustrative 'mini-graph' on the RF-4 in service with the USAF, Air National Guard, Spain and South Korea - plus a small section devoted to those used by Israel. Despite its pictorial slant, the text is some of the most detailed I have read on the Phantom and each image is supported by extensive captions listing the serial, unit and, where possible, the eventual fate of the aircraft.
