SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), the first MRO to maintain the A380, is extending its all-ready significant footprint in the Asia Pacific region by expanding its global presence and increasing its capacity.SIAEC, a Singapore Airlines (SIA) subsidiary is positioning itself as a global MRO provider. Established in 1992, it has extensive maintenance facilities at Changi airport in Singapore and a client list of over 85 international carriers, including Japan Airlines, Qantas, Air Canada, Dubai Air Wing and Gulf Air. It was the first maintenance organisation to support the A380. "We have been impressed by its reliability," says William Tan, president and CEO of SIAEC. "In its initial three months of daily operations on the Singapore-Sydney route, it was the only A380 in commercial service, which placed challenging constraints on operations.
