"There's nothing long-term," says Abdol Moabery, president and chief executive officer at GA Telesis Turbine Technologies. "We aren't willing to commit long-term; nor are the airlines." Although GA Telesis Turbine Technologies has significantly increased its engine leasing capability by adding CF6-80 and CFM56 models to its portfolio of CF6-50 and JT8D- 200 engines - which has enhanced its ability to pursue deals, according to Moabery - it is finding that the market is lacking in long-term commitment. "It's a two-faceted problem," says Moabery. "The airlines don't want to commit long-term because they don't know where they're going to be and they don't want to commit to a price now that may be lower in a year or two years. At the same time, they don't know what their fleet is going to be because the fleet plan seems to be changing faster than ever and there are a lot of reasons for it. The biggest reason is overcapacity.
