Air travel figures are very slowly beginning to make their way towards the goal of being at pre-pandemic levels. Most observers don't expect that target to be reached in 2021, with some predicting that such numbers won't return until around 2024. The increasing availability of vaccines against Covid-19 will help, of course, but in the meantime passengers who do venture forth on flights need to be reassured that plenty is being done by the airline industry to protect them (in addition to them employing personal protection). Aircraft manufacturers have been quick to point out that HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters on board, plus the fact that the cabin air is recycled and cleansed at a greater rate than in places such as offices or restaurants, make virus transmission much less likely.
