TONY TYLER

Tony Tyler took up the position as the sixth LATA Director General and CEO in July 2011 with the challenge of how to build further on a strong foundation. In his close to five years at the association, there is resounding agreement across the industry that his exemplary leadership has achieved just that. Tyler came onboard from Cathay Pacific Airways, where he was CEO after a long career at the Hong Kong-based airline. He brought with him his engrained multi-cultural viewpoint and a natural flair for bringing people together, even on contentious issues. From the get-go, and throughout his tenure at IATA, partnership has been a signature of his leadership and the backbone of his key initiatives.
