CANSO's new Runway Safety Maturity Checklist has been designed for use by ANSPs, airlines, airport operators, regulators and aeronautical telecommunication and radio navigation (ATEL/ANAV) providers. One of its aims is to improve working relationships between pilots and controllers so that both understand the risks involved in an unstable approach, and are therefore able to minimise the potential for runway excursions.
