The Book A detailed account of the German siege of London in World War I, with Londoners' eyewitness reports of attacks by airships and Gotha bombers. Why the author decided to write it I had lived in London all my life and realized this was a period of the city's history of which I knew very little. I started researching the air raids and discovered a trove of information held in documents stored at the National Archives in London. From that moment, the idea of the book was born.
