Desert Hawk 2012

Polish combat aircraft recently deployed to Israel for a joint exercise with the Israel Air and Space Force (IASF) for the first time. Exercise Desert Hawk 2012 ran from March 11 to 15 at Ovda air base in the Negev Desert, in southern Israel. The objectives were to exchange knowledge and experience, undertake cooperative training for joint operations, and to allow the Polish pilots to fly over unfamiliar territory. A key element was the joint planning of missions, briefings and debriefings. Strict safety rules - a hybrid of those used by both air forces -were enforced during the exercise, while the complexity of the missions increased as it progressed.
