No.78 Squadron Celebrates 95th Anniversary

On November 1, 2011, No.78 Squadron based at RAF Benson, Oxfordshire, celebrated its 95th anniversary. As part of its commemorative celebrations, one of the squadron's Merlin HC3s received a temporary 'makeover', consisting of tiger stripes (as featured in the unit's crest) and the squadron's famous 'EY-' codes, the first time they have been applied to its aircraft since 1949, when it flew Dako Mk IVs.
