MBDA's Meteor air-to-air missile is supposed to replace the Raytheon AIM-120 AMRAAM as the primary beyond visual range (BVR) weapon for Typhoon from about July 2015. Industry sources, however, suggest that no formal timeline has been set and only development and risk reduction activities are under way on Typhoon, rather than full integration work.
