Cessna rolled-out the first production airframe of its improved 750 Citation X on April 15. The new model has a maximum speed of Mach 0.935, making it the fastest civilian aircraft in the world, according to the manufacturer. In addition to being faster than the previous Citation X (see Longer Legs for Latitude and Greater Speed for Ten, October 2012, p35), the new variant has winglets to improve cruise efficiency at high altitudes, reduce fuel consumption and improve take-off and landing performance at higher elevations or on hot days.
