The Boeing 787 Dreamliner has returned to service after a redesigned battery system was approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (further to Dreamliner Flight Tests Update, May, p19). On April 27, Ethiopian Airlines completed a service between the carrier's national capital, Addis Ababa, and Nairobi in Kenya, the first commercial Dreamliner flight since January. The flight took place following work to install the newly approved battery sets, chargers and containment and venting systems in the aircraft by Boeing maintenance teams.
