Bell Helicopters revealed a wheeled undercarriage derivative of its 429 model at this year's Heli-Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Centre from March 5 to 8. This new version will enter the market in 2014 at a base price of $6.5 million. The company has launched the 429 variant to broaden the type's appeal, mainly to the VIP and corporate markets where flights often require taxiing to take-off rather than hover-taxiing. Bell also displayed an improved version of its 412, designated the 412EPI, featuring a new flight deck with four 10.4 × 8in (264 × 203mm) displays.
