TwoTwenty assembly begins

IN MID-MAY the first fuselage section for an Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) TwoTwenty arrived at the A220 final assembly line at Mirabel near Montreal in Quebec, Canada. The aircraft is due to make its first flight later this year. It will be handed over in early 2022 for outfitting to Comlux Completion in Indianapolis, Indiana, the exclusive outfitter for the first 15 TwoTwentys, and will be ready for delivery to the customer by 2023. The first pair of aircraft will go to the Comlux Group (parent of Comlux Completion) for charter and sale via its Comlux Aviation operating division based in Malta. The TwoTwenty is the corporate jet variant of the A220-100 airliner added to ACJ's portfolio in October 2020, at which point the company held commitments for six aircraft. Described by ACJ as an 'Xtra Large Bizjet', its cabin can be configured with six living areas for up to 19 passengers.
