When Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica SA (Embraer) launched the Phenom family of very light and light jets in May 2005, few could have foreseen that by the end of 2008 orders would be in the region of 650 aircraft. Orders for 28 Phenom 100 very light jets and nine Phenom 300 light jets secured by the end of the Dubai Air Show on November 15, 2007, were eclipsed less than a month later when Flight Options of Cleveland, Ohio, signed a contract for 100 Phenom 300s (plus 50 options).
