EA-18G Passes IOT&E

The findings of the Boeing EA-18G Growler initial operational test and evaluation (IOT&E) were released on July 29. The Growler was found to be 'operationally effective' and 'operationally suitable' and the US Navy recommended the type for introduction into the fleet. The carrier trials were undertaken on the USS Dwight D Eisenhower (CVN69) between July 31 and August 5, 2008, using EA-18G G-1 and an F/A-18F aerodynamically configured to represent the Growler.
