Airborne Laser Completes Missile Shot

The Boeing YAL-1A Airborne Laser (ABL) completed the first live test of its battle management and beam control/fire control systems against an instrumented missile on August 10. The missile was launched from Naval Auxiliary Air Station San Nicolas Island, off the Santa Barbara Channel in California, an integral part of the Pacific Missile Range.
