Uruguayan Pucara Unit Marks 55tn Anniversary

On August 5 Escuadron Aereo No.1 (Ataque) (Air Squadron No.1, Attack) of the Fuerza Aerea Uruguaya (FAU, Uruguayan Air Force) celebrated 55 years of operations. The celebrations, carried out at the unit's home base of Brigada Aerea No.2 Tte.2do. Mario Walter Parallada in Durazno, included a formation of three of the unit's FMA IA-58A Pucara attack aircraft (FAU 220, 223 and 220, cs 043, 045 and 048 respectively) escorting North American AT-6D Texan FAU 336/CX-NAT (c 88-18228) flown by retired FAU pilot Ismael Alonso, with the service's Commander-in-Chief, General del Aire (Air General) Jose R Bonilla, in the rear seat.
