FLOTTILLE 34F AND THE LYNX

Flottille 34F was established at Saint-Raphael in the south of France in September 1974 to operate the anti-submarine variant of the Alouette III (equipped with a magnetic anomaly detector and a single Mk 44 torpedo). In January the following year this naval squadron moved to Lanveoc-Poulmic in Brittany where it has remained to this day. With the Alouette III the unit gained considerable experience in both anti-submarine warfare and operations from warships at sea.
