NATO's AGS - A Long Time Coming

After years of little progress and false hopes, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) has breathed new life into its AlliancernGround Surveillance (AGS) programme. AGS aims to provide NATO commanders with a core capability of persistent surveillance over wide areas in any weather conditions by defining, procuring and operating an organic airborne intelligence-gathering capability linked to a ground-based distribution network.
