Taxi! It's Always Quicker by Air

It can be quite confidently stated that the very first time a 1908 Ford Model T was parked next to a 1908 Wright Model A, someone would've looked at the two machines and thought "now, that gives me an idea....."Indeed, the concept of a flying machine that can also be driven just like a car is a dream that's probably as old - if not older - than powered flight itself. I logged a few hours (both driving and flying) in one of Molt Taylor's amazing Aerocars many years ago, and probably the kindest things I could say about it was that for a car it flew pretty well, while for an aircraft it didn't drive too badly. It was amazing though, and also technically (albeit not commercially) successful. I wouldn't have cared to have driven it around where I live though - you should see some of the potholes.
