Drone registration in Japan

THE JAPANESE government has announced plans to introduce a drone registry system following a rise in incidents involving UAVs. The decision was made by senior officials on December 18. Under the new plan, drone owners will be required to register the serial numbers of their devices and contact information with Japan's Civil Aviation Bureau of the Transport Ministry, as well as display a registration issued to them. The system could be launched as early as this April.
