The initial three Air Tractor AT-802 fire- fighting aircraft for Israel arrived at Dov Field outside Tel Aviv on March 31. The three aircraft (EC-LIA, EC-LIJ and EC-LIK) were delivered to a new Israel Air and Space Force (IASF) squadron based there, which will eventually operate seven Air Tractors. The aircraft will be deployed to two airstrips in northern Israel. According to the IASF on average there are 60 to 70 large fires in Israel between May and October. The IASF has not revealed how the unit will employ the aircraft between November and April.
