The first Airbus A350-900 for a customer airline, A7-ALA (msn 6, formerly F-WZFA), was handed over to Qatar Airways at Airbus' Toulouse delivery centre on December 22. It was later flown to the Gulf airline's Doha Hamad International first flight in time for the Paris Air Show in June 2013. It was achieved and an intensive 12-month test and certification campaign, involving five aircraft, was conducted before the A350 was certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency and the US Federal Aviation Administration last September.
