The Air Force settled a lawsuit filed on behalf of the widow of a contractor killed in a 2017 friendly fire training incident at the White Sands Missile Range near Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. The widow filed the suit in the United States District Court of New Mexico earlier this year, seeking $24.6 million in damages. The family's lawyer told Military. com in October the settlement was less than what was originally requested, but would not disclose the final amount, saying only it was "enough to take care of them for the rest of their lives."
