QF-16 Flies Remotely

The Air Force and Boeing completed the first unmanned flight of a QF-16 full-scale aerial target. Two Air Force test pilots in a ground control station flew the QF-16 remotely during the Sept. 19 test mission atTyndall AFB, Fla., stated Boeing's Sept. 23 release. The mission profile included auto takeoff, a series of simulated maneuvers, supersonic flight, and an auto landing, according to the release.
