摘要

Those familiar with this excellent two-part, 10-chapter text on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis may be interested to note that the customary coin toss among the coauthors that determines the author order has been won by Pletcher (who "lost" said coin toss in the previous two editions). Those unfamiliar with it should not be discouraged by its size, which is due to the book's incredible level of comprehensiveness combined with the authors' intent on presenting the subject in a manner accessible to undergraduate students. Yet, within each chapter, the depth and detail of the subject is progressively increased, making this text appropriate for a graduate course as well. Each chapter is complete with tens (about 10 to 80) of homework problems aiming to solidify the concepts presented as well as hundreds of references to works of the most prolific authors in the field. This latter aspect makes the text not only a fantastic textbook but also a great reference.
