This book was derived from a course developed by Professor Russo for engineering students entering the area of experimental aerodynamics. In preparing a book (or a course) on a topic that potentially encompasses such a wide range of the physical sciences, it is difficult to decide which material to include while treating it in sufficient depth for it to be of interest to the researcher or to be of much use as a reference. The temptation is to go off on tangents, delving ever further into one of the many fascinating areas of aerodynamic measurement technology, while omitting other areas of practical importance.
