Grading of fruits and vegetables is one of the most important operations since it adds value to the product and gives better economic gain to the producer. Grading done on the basis of size and shape is important for marketing uniform high quality produce.rnA divergent type roller grader was developed and tested for size grading of tomato, potato and onion. Provision was made for slope and clearance adjustment. Effectiveness of grading and skinning damage of vegetables was estimated by varying feed rate and slope of the unit. The effectiveness of the grader was maximum (84.47 %) and skinning damage was minimum (1.5 %) at a feed rate of 480 kg/h and seven degrees slope.
