The Norwegian billionaire has managed a hold-up on not one but two offshore Ghanaian blocks that it will develop in tandem. Aker Energy’s purchase of the 40% stake owned by Hess Corp in the Ghanaian block Deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points comes with triple benefits for Aker Energy’s main shareholder, Norwegian businessman Kjell Inge Rokke. As well as snapping up a promising block, Rokke will be able to position himself as the supplier for a large portion of the services related to the Pecan deposit and other associated fields.
