Victory Aviation came into existence discreetly on 9June in Mauritius. Its directors are Zimbabweanbusinessman Cassidy Mugwagwa, the shareholderchairmanof FlyAfrica Zimbabwe, and Mei Chen EmilyHwang and Pui Ki Gloria Cheung. The company has beenset up as Mugwaga plans to get FlyAfrica Zimbabweflying again before the end of June, nearly six years afterthe company lost the air operator's certificate it hadbeen granted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe(CAAZ). The flying ban, which came into force in late2015, led to a battle between the company'sshareholders and a series of court cases over its debts,which are still in progress.
