Senegal's air force is this month due to receive another maritime patrol aircraft (MPA), a CN-235, from the stateowned Indonesian Aerospace, also known as PT Dirgantara or Persero. The arrival of this aircraft, produced under license from Airbus, comes on top of an initial maritime-configured plane ordered in February 2020 at the Singapore Air Show, which was delivered last year (Africa Intelligence, 27/05/20). These will help to secure Senegalese waters in the run-up to the development of the offshore gas fields of Grand Tortue-Amheyim. At the same time, Dakar will send its first CN-235, purchased in 2017, back to Indonesia for maintenance work.
