IFC finances Ruggieri family's African hotels

With a new loan still being negotiated in April with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a sister institution of the World Bank, the Onomo hotel operator may be able to finance its two new hotels under construction in Cameroon and Djibouti and restructure the debt of some of its existing hotels in West Africa. Onomo entered the mid- to high-end hotel business, targeting a corporate clientele, before the coronavirus pandemic, which hit the hospitality industry hard. The IFC is prepared to lend it up to $40m.
