Lourenço woos foreign diplomats to add shine to his economic legacy

With the presidential elections just a year away, President João Lourenço is redoubling his efforts to show strong economic stewardship and sees foreign diplomats as key to achieving his goal. On 12 April, working with Angola's investment and export promotion agency Aipex, Lourenço's minister of foreign affairs Tete António hosted a breakfast in honour of the ambassadors and senior diplomats of the main foreign missions present in the Angolan capital. The purpose of the event, held in Luanda's special economic zone and to be followed up by a second round on 14 April, is to promote industrial projects in which the minister hopes to convince foreign actors to invest.
