Adama Coulibaly crafts Ivory Coast eurobond, sidelines prime minister

It was Adama Coulibaly, economy minister since September 2019, who, in close cooperation with the Ivorian president's office, supervised the launch this month of the €850m eurobond on financial markets in Dublin and Luxembourg. He worked closely with the secretary general of the president's office, Patrick Achi, and with President Alassane Ouattara's chief of staff, Fidele Sarassoro, a close associate and fellow economist. But it was Coulibaly himself who took centrestage.
