Plenty of interest to supply Rabat and Tunis with EU-funded counter-migration aircraft

Before the end of February the International Centre for the Development of Migration Policies (ICDMP) is due to invite bids for €40m-worth of contracts to supply coast guards in Morocco and Tunisia with airborne maritime surveillance systems. The tender is financed by the European Union, which is keen to reduce the flow of irregular migrants across the Mediterranean. Preliminary details of the tender released in December referred to drones, but we understand that the final technical specifications could also stipulate ultralight planes.
