McKinsey scores win over BCG in Libreville in pan-African battle of consultants

Last week the Gabonese government signed a major contract with the consulting firm McKinsey. The wide-ranging deal encompasses the modernising of the civil service and the digitalising of government departments. McKinsey is no stranger to the presidential palace: twenty years ago the firm, one of whose senior consultants at the time was the Franco-Ivorian Tidjane Thiam, conducted an audit of state debt, and more recently it worked on reforming the country's education system.
