Graphex switches from graphite mining in Tanzania to gold mining in Mali

On 20 July, a general meeting of shareholders approved a major strategic about-turn by Australia's Graphex Mining. The company, which has been working since 2014 on development of the Chilalo graphite project in southern Tanzania, where it had indicated that the deposit had a very high ore content, has now sets its sights on gold mining in Mali. It is even planning to change its name to Marvel Gold to take account of the strategic switch.
