Brigadier Joseph Mathambo was replaced as head of the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) after a cabinet reshuffle on 26 August by the familiar face of Tymon Katlholo, who had occupied the post between 1997 and 2009. The choice made by President Mokgweetsi Masisi's government may come as a disappointment to those expecting new blood at the helm of DCEC, which has been subjected to months of criticism over its perceived lack of independence.
