The latest RAeS Washington DC Branch Meeting was held at the Embassy of New Zealand on 19 February. Wg Cdr Nigel Sainsbury, Assistant Air Force Attache, welcomed the 60-plus attendees to the Embassy. He then introduced Kenneth Gazzola, Chairman of the DC Branch to introduce the guest speaker. Mr Gazzola thanked the sponsors, Airbus, The Boeing Company, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce. He thanked the DC Board for their work and asked the 20 visiting students to stand and be welcomed; thanking Colin Reagle for leading the Branch student programme. Mr Gazzola previewed the next four lectures and pointed attendees to the website for more information. Mr Gazzola then introduced the guest speaker, Dr Jaiwon Shin, Associate Administrator, Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate, NASA.
