SIR MICHAEL JOHN MARSHALL

Sir Michael Marshall died suddenly on 27 July 2019 while on holiday in Spain.Sir Michael was born in Cambridge on 27 January 1932. He was educated at Eton College and Jesus College, Cambridge, where he obtained an Honours Degree in History. He was commissioned as a Royal Air Force Pilot during National Service between 1950 and 1952 which included ten months training at Gimli, Canada. He gained a Private Pilot's Licence in April 1949 and remained a keen flyer throughout his life. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of securing his pilot's licence Sir Michael was planning a flight to Morocco in September to commemorate the milestone.
