Urban air mobility (UAM) continues to be a hot topic in both the aero industry and the wider consumer domain. With companies such as ride-hailing giant Uber making significant investment in the sector, it's clear that flying taxis are no longer just a concept limited to sci-fi novels and movies. However, for UAM to become a widespread and accepted reality, the technology behind it must be reliable, safe, low noise and stringently tested. As well as this, public acceptance will be critical.
