During my many years on Aeroplane, I have met hundreds of readers and been in personal contact with thousands more by letter, phone and e-mail. To be part of this 35,000-strong worldwide community is to immerse yourself in an invigorating pool of knowledge, passion and experience. You have only to glance at the vibrant Readers' Album, Skywriters and Hairy Moment pages, all generated by readers, at the back of each issue to gauge that pool's extraordinary depth, warmth, colour and freshness. It is thus with a tinge of sadness - such as you feel when having one last swim at the end of a sunny holiday-that I am now retiring as Editor, upon Aeroplane's transfer from I PC Media to new owners Kelsey Publishing. It has been, for me, the best job in the world; but it is time to let someone else have a go.
