This author will need no introduction to anyone who has already seen his earlier books on the de Havilland Gipsy and Tiger Moths, and in this new volume he covers the seven Moths from the D.H.60 to D.H.94. Early chapters describe the origins of the de Havilland company; Geoffrey de Havilland designed a number of aircraft for Airco during the First World War, and in September 1920 set up his own company at Stag Lane Aerodrome near Hendon. Its first job was to build a pair of D.H.I 8 airliners for Air Transport & Travel (ATT), but there was a shortage of money until rich sportsman Alan Butler joined the Board, eventually to become chairman, a situation which saved the company.
