A1an J. Leahy joined the Royal Navy in 1943 and was awarded his wings in 1944. When he arrived in Korea in 1952 he joined 801 Sqn on HMS Glory for its third and last tour of the war. Lieutenant Leahy was the third senior man in the squadron, as the weapons officer and a Division (Flight) leader. At the top of the tree was the squadron commander, followed by the senior pilot, Alan and two other division leaders. Of the 18 pilots on the squadron, seven of them would die in combat and one would become a prisoner of war.
