Jet Age Javelin moves inside

On July 20, Gloster Javelin FAW.9 XH903 became the first aircraft to be rolled in to the newly-constructed display hangar at the Jet Age Museum at Gloucestershire Staverton Airport. It was hoped that the building would be open to visitors on August 24 for the Bank Holiday weekend, by which time Gloster Meteor F.8 WH364 and the refurbished Gloster E28/39 replica were also due to be on show in the hangar. A spokesman for Jet Age says it will very much be a "soft" opening, with visitors able to see the new building and view work in progress while the displays and visitor services are installed. An official opening will be sometime prior to the summer 2014 season.
